Pops in the Park - Sunday, September 2
The Kansas City Symphony's free Labor Day concert at The Theatre In The Park at Shawnee Mission Park celebrates all things American. Bring your family and friends, blankets and lawn chairs for selections from Sousa, John Williams and Randy Newman, familiar sports themes, Hollywood movie music and more -- led by the Symphony's assistant conductor Damon Gupton.
The parking lot will open at 4:30 p.m. and gates will open at 5 p.m. Instrument Petting Zoo begins at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by Swiss Re. Park concessions will be available, but concert-goers are invited to bring picnic baskets and coolers along with their lawn chairs and blankets.
The Theatre In the Park is located inside Shawnee Mission Park at 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee, Kan.
